James

James was born and raised all over southern California (Los Angeles and Orange County) and spent many summers in rural West Texas with family. Ad he gotten older, his curiosity to explore his own backyard has grown with an emphasis on local restaurants/bars, theatre, and yup, the great outdoors. He has completed many long distance hikes and a few; with moderate/intense elevation gain but Baldy is the highest so far. James has been participating with volunteer groups whenever his work or school schedules would allow for the past 7 years. He loves to travel and will be visiting Central America this December before he begin work in Korea and South East Asia. He is also a writer – mainly lyrics, fiction, and short stories, but currently web content is what pays the bills.

Message from James:

I was very excited when Chris posted his idea for this series of hikes and was grateful to be picked as a volunteer. I am also grateful to all of the volunteers and every single student from Braille.  I had an overwhelming amount of tragic events occur this year in just about all aspects of my life and I choose to help with something bigger than myself or my problems instead of sulking about. Seeing how everyone bonded, worked so hard, and never gave up truly did something for me that I cannot express enough gratitude for.
