Mayra

Mayra moved to California in 1980 from her native Guatemala in Central America.   She works for an international law firm where she sets up and designs and manages databases.  She loves what she does and has been in the technical industry for 28 years.

She got involved in hiking because she loves the outdoors and has a strong passion for traveling. Growing up, she spent her weekends and vacations at her grandmother’s ranch in Guatemala.  It was these moments that made her fall in love with the outdoor

She is excited to be taking on this challenge and loved the opportunity to be involved in something that would impact someone’s life.  She hopes to be able to take this enjoyable experience and volunteer in similar projects.

Message from Mayra:
I have enjoyed the training hikes and know that making it to the summit will be a blast.  It has been a great experience to watch the guides and students, who were once strangers, grow closer to each other during these beautiful hikes.
